A private museum, recommended by Michael Hubbard, organized by President Wayne Knibbs. About 20-22 members and guests attended. As you'll see below, an absolutely astounding venue. Aside from the usual displays of vehicles, the owner has recreated a 1950s restaurant, a 1950s house, an early garage and general store, plus a news room, dentist office and school. The first a set of photos are from member Chris James, followed by photos and videos from Dennis Keis.

Thanks to Chris James for this set of Photos.

Another beautiful August Sunday, thanks to our volunteers and to Dr. Bob Rooks for allowing us to use his field behind Twin Beaches Mall.

Many thanks to the Gabriola Lions Club for again catering to our taste buds with fine food. And once again thanks to the RCMP and Gabriola Ambulance Service for participating. And to Gabriola Fire Service, not just one truck, but two trucks, one with the astonishing ladder. GI John provided a needed service and entertaining music by DJ Turk.

May 28th, beautiful day, mustered at Twin Beaches Mall at 10:00am, 9 stops around Gabriola Island, each car received a playing card at each stop. Participants then proceeded to our Community Hall where the Gabriola Lions Club provided excellent food as usual.

Cruisers member Fred Withey analyzed all the poker hands and determined if any had a prize winning joker followed by the winners of the best poker hand and the worst poker hand. This was followed by a sizable number of door prize draws.

Volunteers handing out cards at the 9 stops were: Moira Rockwell, Randy Phillips, Glen Gray, Verenia Saxon, Catherine Phillips, Tony Leeming, Steve Wohlleben, Val Lofvendahl, and Wayne Knibbs.

Dennis Keis was the hall organizer, assisted by Carol Martin and Steve Smith.

Many thanks to Gloria and Pages resort for inviting us to use their facilities

And this event wouldn’t have happened without all the work done by President Wayne Knibbs and his wife Vernia. Thanks so much.

As you'll see in the photos Wayne secured a very weird and wonderful old time briquettes BBQ machine. He purchased large beef roasts and dozens of corn cobs. Members brought salads and desserts along with donations to our local PHC Food Bank.

After missing 2 years due to the pandemic we finally were able to hold our show and it was a great success. We registered 63 vehicles, and almost 1/2 of them came from off-island!

The Gabriola Cruisers Auto Club wishes to thank Dr. Bob Rooks for once again allowing us to hold the show on his Twin Beaches property, it is much appreciated. Thanks also go to the RCMP and the Fire Department for participating. A very central part of our show is the participation of the Gabriola Lions Club serving up their great food and drinks. Thanks Lions. The show couldn't have gone on without help from our music man DJ Turk and the facilities provided by GI John.

Thank you to the many club members who volunteered with set up, registration, parking, ticket selling, visitor assistance and clean up.

Eight volunteers mustered at the museum at 10:00 and headed out to their spots. About 15 club members plus 10 visitors from the Old English Car Club mustered at 11:00, received instructions and maps from President Wayne and headed out to 8 stops at 11:30.

All drivers and passengers convened at the Community Hall following their collection of 8 playing cards, one at each stop. The Lions Club graciously set up their BBQ for a lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs and cold drinks, while the club offered coffee, tea and hot chocolate inside.

Fred Withey analyzed the poker hands after he took away one card from each. Prizes were awarded for the best poker hand, the worst hand and to the 2 individuals who selected jokers. Following that door prize draws were held to give away great items acquired by our Swag Chairperson Catherine.

Gabriola Cruisers current and past Presidents (Wayne and Steve) meet with PHC Executive Director, Brenda Fowler to present the Club's recent donation of the proceeds from the Club's Poker Run to PHC's food bank program.
